Latte-Coffee Art

Latte art or coffee art refers to designs created on the tops of espresso based drinks by a barista. These designs are usually created in one of two ways and sometimes using a combination of both. Latte art is considered by many consumers of coffee to be the final, crowning touch on an exquisitely prepared espresso-based beverage. Because of its visual presentation to the customer and beverage drinker and the increasing importance latte art has in cafes around the world, there is concern that taste should never become secondary to the art.

Latte Art 5 ROSETTA IN ONE CUP by Scottie

I think I love the pictures more than the latte art, some of the people I am with are some of my most favorite coffee experiences. Most of the photos were taken in Japan where my favorite cafe ‘Cafe De Lambre’ is in Ginza Tokyo – the photo with me and the old Japanese man (Sekiguchisan) the owner is Lambre he sources and roasts aged green coffees, this shop serves good coffee and the cultural experience is awesome.

Caffeine Junkie Coffee People: Prisma Markers and Color Pencils + Oil Paint + Photoshop

My Website- merrillk.com This is my tribute to caffeine junkies, coffee addicts, red bull chuggers, mountain dew doers, Amp addicts, Jolt juicers and tea tasters. It was made with a variety of media; both traditional and digital (tradigital). I started out with pencil and sharpie markers, to set deep base tones that will be seen after several layers are added. Next, I used illustration markers as a quick means of adding the first layer of color. Next, I used color pencils to create a layer of translucent, blended color. The color pencils also serve as a ground for the oil paint layer (which is next). I use oil paint because it is so versatile, it can be applied thin or thick and it is easy to mix a range of colors- which is important when you are mixing flesh tones. I finish the artwork with oil pastels and color pencils. Then I scan it, cut it out on photoshop and juxtapose my two characters over a digital photo. Please comment, rate and subscribe if you wish!
