Will this work for making hot chocolate?

I have an espresso machine and this very fancy hot chocolate mix that says to use milk. So i was thinking if i steam the milk and then add the hot chocolate mix. is that a good idea/will it taste good or should i just heat the milk up a different way? If so what way?
thanks so much =)

Can you make the foamy steamed milk for a Cappuchino, with out a Cappuchino machine?

I have been making espresso style drinks with my french press, and dark roast coffee, lattes and mochas, but I don’t get the foam on the top like at a coffee shop, are there any ways to steam milk with out the fancy equipment? I’ve tried boiling it in the microwave, but still no foam.

question about having own expresso machine? & making soy lattes?

i am going to purchase my own mini expresso machine because i am sick of paying 4$ for a soy-latte. my first question is, if i purchase it, do i have to get a milk frother as well?

http://www.target.com/Mr-Coffee-Steam-Espresso-Machine/dp/B000U6BSI2

^ that is the one i am buying.. i am just hoping i put the milk and it froths it and adds expresso so that its easy. do you know if that’s what it would do??

also – if i use soy-vanilla do you think that i’d still have to add a vanilla syrup or is the vanilla in the milk enough

sorry if these are awful questions :)

Espresso: Steaming vs Frothing milk on Hamilton Beach 40729?

I bought a cheap espresso machine:

http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach-40729-Espresso-Cappuccino/dp/B0006FU8AG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1208398730&sr=1-1

It has a frothing nozzle for steaming/frothing milk, but I don’t know the exact difference between the two. I meant I know how to froth the milk, but not how to steam it.

Anyone familiar with this machine?
to below: thanks for your answer. So to steam milk, I turn the dial all the way and give it a full blast, and to froth, I just turn it a little bit?
Don’t I make more bubble if I give it more steam?

Anyone ever try steaming chocolate milk?

We’ve been experimenting with our espresso machine, and I’ve been wondering what it would be like to steam chocolate milk instead of plain milk. Has anyone tried? How did it go?

How can I un-clog my Krups Coffee Maker?

I have a black Krups Capuccino/Espresso machine that is only about 6 months old. I have run vinegar through it multiple times, and descaled it with water, yet the steam frothing pipe will not unclog! It has reached a point where nothing comes out of the frother, and I have to release the pressure by forcefully opening the top of the coffeemaker.

Is a milk steamer and milk frother the same thing? Does a milk frother work for making macchiatos?

i’m getting an espresso machine with a milk frother. does this steam the milk or.. what?

What temp, and for how long, to steam home made egg nog with raw eggs, to kill any bacteria?

I want to make egg nog lattes with my home espresso machine, from home made egg nog. I figure a good way to kill any bacteria is to steam it just like you normally do with a latte anyway! My question is what temperature, and how long does it have to be at that temp to kill the bacteria?

Does anyone know how to steam milk ?

Without using the attachment on an espresso machine.
I worked at Starbucks and I know how to steam milk with the aide of a machine, but I was curious if there was any other way.

Home Espresso Machines?

As a college student, the daily trips to Starbucks are breaking my bank. I would like to purchase an espresso machine for myself. I would prefer to spend under 0. I know that this won’t allow me to get the best quality, but it’s the most I am able to spend. I really only need to be able to steam the milk and produce 1-2 shots of espresso at a time. If anyone has an espresso machine that they love/hate, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thank you.

Question about making espresso drinks.?

I have a small espresso machine, the Mr. Coffee from Wal-Mart. I’m having trouble steaming the milk the correct way. I guess it’s getting steamed well enough, but when I pour the drink it is always luke-warm at best, usually it’s cold. I thought it may be because the milk is still cold, I dunno. Does anyone have any tips on making espresso drinks the correct way?!
I steam the milk untill the steam stops coming. The machine does kind of suck, I have to brew at least 2 servings to get any kind of steam, it just quits before the milk is hot enough I guess.

Expresso machine frother not working?

I have gotten an espresso machine.

As soon as turned the machine on, I cranked to steam and nothing came out.

This is a used espresso machine by the way.

Any ideas?
Yes I filled it with water.

How long should I wait for the pressure to build up?

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement seal for the steam outlet on a Krups XP7260 Espresso machine?

The XP 7260 looks a lot like a XP 7230, but includes an automatic milk frothing attachment. The frother attaches to the machine at the steam port. The steam port has a small, orange/red o-ring to insure a tight seal. Unfortunately, after less than six months of use, it snapped. For the technically inclined, it looks like the o-ring attaches to the MS-5370789 manufacturer part (if you have the exploded view diagram of the unit.) Does anyone know where I can find this seal?
So, unfortunately, it appears you must order the 5370789 part to get the o-ring.

If you are in a bind, I’ve had some success with the 0908099 o-ring — but note the fit is not quite as tight. It will keep you caffeinated though (while exercising great care — it’s not as a tight of a fit) in the interim — as the part seems to be more available.
Please note — the parts I have seen so far on authorized appliance are not for this model.
So I have found the answer to my question.

This part only comes with 5370789. One of the Krups service centers, smallappliance.com, now stocks this part — 5370789. If your product is under warranty, contact Krups VIP Customer Service (the VIP number comes with the product) and they can place an order for you.

Why won't the milk frother work on my Mr. Coffee Espresso machine?

Maybe you can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Here are the exact steps I take in brewing espresso:
1) Grind beans on a fine setting.
2) Fill metal filter with grounds (b/c I’m making 4 cups)
3) Tamper the grounds so they are tightly packed
4) Insert and lock Brew Head
5) Fill glass container to the 4 cup mark
6) Dump water into reservoir and tightly close lid
7) Turn knob to Brew
8) Allow espresso to brew
**At this point, once espresso is dripping, steam is coming from the brew head. Is it escaping when it shouldn’t be?**
9) Place frothing head into milk
10) Turn knob to Steam and nothing happens.

I can’t even "release the pressure" like the manual says to do so I’m always afraid that I’ll get steam burns when removing the reservoir lid.

Please help!!

Milk steamer on Espresso Machine?

Can i steam the milk in a regular coffee cup rather than just buying the tin or ceramic milk cup?

Small Espresso Machine… how to steam milk…?

I have a small espresso maker but can’t find the directions. Do I add water and brew THEN steam the milk? or do I have to add water in a separate process in order to use the steamer…. thanks! :D basically I need to know if the left over steam from brewing is used to steam the milk as well.

Steaming milk sans Espresso machine?

I am a barrista at an independent coffee shop. Are there any stand alone steamers per se? Just an upright type machine connected to a hot water source complete with steam wand. Anyone know anything of that nature? I’ve done my own little search and found nothing

How do you drink espresso?

I have an espresso machine and it has a steam nozzel for milk, but what if i just want the espresso? are you just supposed to take it like a shot of alcohol or do you add sugar and cream to it?

why are the coffee grinds going into my brewed espresso?

i bought a moka express pot. The grinds go into my espresso. A lot of the fine powder and a bit of smaller grinds, versus when I use my steam espresso machine there is only a tiny bit. I used espresso grind, and also regular grind, and there are still grinds ending up in my espresso. I’ve tried grinding my own and also buying store bought one. Why is this happening. I am using a medium high heat on an electric stove. It takes 7-8 minutes to brew from starting from a cold stove.
