Small Espresso Machine… how to steam milk…?

I have a small espresso maker but can’t find the directions. Do I add water and brew THEN steam the milk? or do I have to add water in a separate process in order to use the steamer…. thanks! :D basically I need to know if the left over steam from brewing is used to steam the milk as well.

My espresso machine steam wand keeps turning on and off?

When i steam milk, the steamer light will light on and off about 4 times during the process – its very irritating and always ruins the texture of the milk.

What causes this, what fixes this?
Thanks

Impossible-to-use espresso machine, expert needed.?

I bought an espresso machine at Goodwill. I have a working familiarity with how to use a machine, but I have a slight problem. The knob has no labels. I turn it to try and turn on the steamer, but when I do that, it steams a little, but most of the hot water comes out the portafilter. It is a Salton model EX-17 from 1989. Also, there is no heat light. Help?

Espresso machine has musty taste?

I recently purchased a Briel Lido at a second hand store. First time i used it i noticed a musty taste in my mocha, and couldn’t finish it. So I ran a whole bottle of straight white vinegar through the group head and steamer as well, thinking I needed to descale it. I flushed it with clean water, and made a shot, threw it away, then made another shot, and steamed my chocolate milk. The musty taste is still there! What else could I do?

what is a good ESPRESSO machine for under $300?

Is there any way to check if my espresso machine's frother is clogged?

It’s not one of those really expensive ones, so I decided to take it apart and find out why it wasn’t frothing. It turns out every time I try to use the frother, the pressure from the steam going through the hose blows it off the place where it connects to it.

And I took the hose off and it wasn’t clogged, so I think the problem’s with the steamer itself or the little nozzle where the hose connects to the frother.
Is there any way I can fix it?

How do I operate a Gaggia Classic espresso machine?

Don’t have a manual to this thing- it’s an 04, stainless, two red toggle buttons on front, a plastic container behind where the cups go. I’m assuming to fill water/milk. There is an opening on the top-black plastic. Has a black knob on right side, a steamer wand ( I think) on left and a L shaped handle on right. Need a step by step tutorial please. Thanks alot!!!

How does one steam milk using a Salton espresso machine (Three For All)?

My mom just gave me an old Salton "Three For All" espresso machine, and I don’t know how to use the steamer! I don’t even know how that side of the machine works at all (… and I used to be a barista at Starbucks). Can somebody help?

Have any tips concerning what to look for when buying your first espresso machine and espresso grinder?

I’m looking for an espresso machine that will produce high quality espresso for lattes, and that has a built in steamer. I’m hoping to stay under 0 total for the machine and the grinder.

What are your tips? What should I look for in various models?
Increasing my budget wouldn’t be too difficult, it would just mean a little longer before I could purchase the machine.

What should I look for in a machine though? I don’t want to be the person who says "this one costs the most so it must be the best"!

Can you give any examples of espresso machines that you’ve found to work well and hold up over the years?
